About Walworth County Criminal History

Walworth County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff's Office, circuit courts, Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Each office holds a different part of the record. We organize the official portals, addresses, telephone numbers, fees, and request routes so visitors can identify the proper custodian without searching through several government directories.

Why We Built This Site

Wisconsin provides broad public access, yet no single office holds every part of a criminal history. Walworth County Central Records keeps sheriff reports and booking material. The Clerk of Circuit Court maintains filed charges, docket events, and dispositions. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau operates the state repository, while the Department of Corrections and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry answer separate custody, supervision, and registration questions. We bring those official channels together and explain which one fits each request.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: where to reach county records staff, court clerks, and Wisconsin record systems
  • Official check instructions: how name-based and authorized fingerprint checks move through the Crime Information Bureau
  • Record guides: how to search and read Walworth County court cases
  • Record relief information: how Wisconsin expungement works and why the sentencing court controls it

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Wisconsin court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Our role has firm limits:

  • We cannot issue certified court documents, rap sheets, or other official records
  • We cannot submit a records request, expungement filing, or court form for a visitor
  • We cannot retrieve a person's record or perform an official background check
  • We cannot interpret a charge or provide advice about a particular case
  • We cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, or office hours have not changed

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Walworth County Sheriff, Clerk of Circuit Court, or Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau. We can identify that office, but we cannot supply its record.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes on some pages. They control their services, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that helps support this free resource. We neither set a partner's charges nor decide which records its service returns.
